NTR Magnum: Comprehensive Protection and Remote Monitoring with More Than 30 High-Definition Cameras

The Operational Challenge

Located in one of the region's most strategic industrial development zones, the NTR Magnum plant in Saltillo-Derramadero needed to strengthen its asset security and operational supervision protocols in an environment with constant movement of personnel, heavy machinery, and supply logistics.

The company needed to address key challenges on three fronts at once:

• Outdoor Perimeter Coverage: Securing outdoor areas and vehicle entrances exposed to the extreme weather of the Derramadero area (dust, wind, and temperature swings).
• Production Floor Supervision: Maintaining clear visibility over process lines for occupational safety audits, process control, and incident prevention on the shop floor.
• Administrative Security and Accessibility: Protecting corporate offices and allowing management to supervise the facilities remotely without being physically at the plant.

The Technology Solution Developed

We designed and implemented a turnkey Industrial-Grade Video Surveillance Infrastructure project, calculating the ideal optical coverage and ensuring maximum system availability.

1. Strategic Camera Deployment (Outdoors, Plant, and Offices)

A network of more than 30 high-resolution IP cameras was installed, distributed according to the requirements of each area:

• Outdoors and Perimeters: IP67-rated waterproof and dustproof bullet cameras with advanced night vision for 24/7 coverage of yards and entrances.
• Production Floor: Cameras placed at strategic elevated points to cover work bays without interfering with cranes or the flow of personnel.
• Offices and Pedestrian Entrances: High-definition dome devices for administrative areas and main entrances.

2. Industrial Conduit and Infrastructure

All structured cabling was installed in compliance with industrial standards, using heavy-duty conduit and raceways to ensure video signals suffer no electromagnetic interference from machinery and no weather-related degradation.

3. Smart Alert System and Remote Monitoring

We configured a centralized platform that integrates motion-detection analytics and an automatic alert system. Management and security staff now have encrypted access from mobile devices (smartphones and tablets) and computers to view the plant live or review recorded footage from anywhere.

4. Scalable Architecture

Given NTR Magnum's growth, the core infrastructure (high-capacity NVRs, PoE switches, and backup power supplies) was sized to allow new video points to be integrated continuously without restructuring the main network.

Results and Impact

Implementing the video surveillance system transformed security management and operational control at NTR Magnum:

• 360° Real-Time Visibility: Full coverage with no blind spots in the plant's critical areas.
• Immediate Response to Events: The alert system instantly reports any perimeter breach or unauthorized after-hours activity.
• Continuous Operational Control: Management can monitor compliance with health and safety regulations on the production floor from any remote location.
• Progressive Growth: Thanks to its modular architecture, the system has grown beyond the initial 30 cameras and continues to expand to cover new areas as the plant requires.
